LAN Installation Versions 10.0 and later do not support LAN installation. Install Knowledge Xpert locally only.

Upgrades

When you upgrade a knowledge base and install it in the same directory as other Knowledge Xpert knowledge bases, Knowledge Xpert displays an error message when you try to access a knowledge base that has not yet been upgraded.

Workaround: Upgrade all your knowledge bases at the same time or install the product in a separate directory.

Anti Virus software may issue warnings during an upgrade. The upgrade process deletes old Knowledge Xpert files and registry entries as part of the upgrade process. It is okay to approve the flagged actions and continue the upgrade. ST#46452
When you migrate attachments or topic notes from previous versions into version 10.1, Instant Message notes do not migrate. If you need to migrate these notes, contact Quest Support. ST#53603
Print Knowledge Xpert only recognizes the default printer.

Workaround: If you want to use a different printer, temporarily change the default printer to that printer.

Knowledge Xpert Browser If you are logged into your machine with a user name that contains double byte characters, attempting to open Knowledge Xpert will cause the following error: "Unable to open/create comment database file. Error: unable to open database file"

Third Party Known Issues
