Quest® Code Tester for Oracle

Version 1.9.1

New in This Release

March 2010

Bug Fixes for This Release

This release of Quest Code Tester for Oracle includes a number of bug fixes.

General

The following provides the new or improved features in this release of Quest Code Tester for Oracle.

Object Type Support

You can now test directly the methods of object types, test the contents of object type instances for equality and inequality, and specify the values of attributes through a grid.

Default Value Support

You now request that the default of a parameter be used when testing your program. The generated test code will not pass a value for this argument.

Improved Code Coverage Support

You can now specify your code coverage target as a percentage, both as a preference (global target) and for specific program units. Actual code coverage % and target % values are now shown in Test Editor and code coverage reports. These reports have also been expanded.

Specifying Order of Execution of Test Suites

You can now specify the order of execution of tests in a suite through the Dashboard (right-click on suite name, choose "Specify order of tests in suite").

Random Test Execution

You can request through the Test Editor that unit tests and test cases within a unit test be executed in random order.

Addition of a User Extension Field

A "User Extension" field is now available for custom applications by users. This value is not used by Code Tester. Instead, it can help with extensions to Code Tester, such as implementing "mock object" support.

Preference Dialog Redesign and Improvement

The Preferences dialog has been redesigned and expanded. All preferences are stored in a separate preferences INI file, making it easier to share and standardize Code Tester preferences.

Hooks for Unit Tests and Test Cases

Pre- and post-hooks are now available for unit tests and test cases, in addition to existing pre- and post-hooks for the entire test, code compilation, and generation.

Test Code Descriptions Added

Generated test code now includes the description text for test definition, unit test, and test case. This text helps users find customization code in the generated test code.

Addition of Command Line Interface Commands

The command line interface now offers the ability to specify /Generate (generate test code) and /Trace (enable tracing on startup of product).

Simple_INTEGER Datatype Support

Support has been added for the new SIMPLE_INTEGER datatype of Oracle 11g.
