Differences in File Locations from Toad 9.7 to 10

In Toad 10 file locations are no longer specified in the registry. The location is stored in the SettingsLocation.ini file found under: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle.

New File locations features in Toad 10

In Toad 10, we have now reinstated the option to change your application data directory. This option can be found in Toad Options| General| Application data dictionary.

  • Click Use Default to keep the application data directory in the main application data directory for the user.
  • Click Use local default to use the Local Settings directory for the user.

User File Migration

Our new installer does not allow the ability to perform upgrades and side by side installs in the same installer. Therefore, a new migration tab has been added to the initial startup wizard to migrate your existing application data from a previous installation of Toad.
